BriefBuilder co-founder Juriaan van Meel has written a book about construction briefing, together with Kjersti Bjørkeng Størdal from Gottlieb Paludan Architects. The book’s central idea is that briefing (also referred to architectural programming) is crucial to the success of a project as the brief describes the construction client’s ambitions, needs and requirements for which the design provides the solution.
Briefing for Buildings is being used in teaching at both Bachelor and Master level at Delft University of Technology and at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
Wim Pullen, director of the Center for People and Buildings, calls the book a “a must-read for all involved in briefing for buildings!”
